11/14 - Update on the Societies

I placed an update on the Societies Sundance, Cassidy, and two new additions in my original post titled "Hello From Massachusetts," but fear it may get lost so I thought I should post here and let anyone interested in reading it know it exists there, in "Hello From Massachusetts."
I have a quick question about housing Societies: Would it be dangerous to house two males with one fermale?
We went to our local pet shop today and they have tons of Zebras, but one solitary Society - I wanted to buy him/her so badly - all alone, sitting on a perch quietly by him/herself...made me so sad. On the drive home, my husband told me I could have had him/her...and it is a pretty little thing, too, and they are on sale - half price! - because they want to thin out their flock. I suppose three males might be bad, but wonder if two males and a female might be dangerous, too.
Please let me know your thoughts, as if you think it would not be a bad idea, I will go get him/her tomorrow!
THANK YOU!
Michelle

I have kept them in odd numbers and mixed genders and never had any problems. They are really sociable. If you want him/ her, I'd go for it!

Definitely should not be any problem - I had 1 female with 3 males - they all get along without any fighting.
Do post pics soon!!

Thank you both for the replies! I am off to bring him/her home, to his/her new family of Societies!

Well...when I went last week to bring home the lone Society in a cage full of Zebras at the local pet shop, I discovered that there were TWO Societies in the flight. I *almost* didn't buy either, since I figured there was no lone Society, then I figured, "What the heck?" and bought them both!
In the photo, the birds are, from left to right, Chico, Starburst, Bambi and Sundance. I believe Bambi is the only female, as she is the only one I have not heard sing. Chico looks like either a baby to me, or in the middle of a molt - what do you all think? He actually has the prettiest song, whereas Sundance and Starburt are more a succession of "beeps" and "peeps" when they sing. Chico sounds like my canaries!

Very nice, The societies have all kinds of beeps, clicks and songs. Each of my 3 males have songs that are different form each other, some are soft and some are louder than the other. Enjoy your new birds. They have quiet the little personalities.

SERIOUSLY? Wow! He was the only other finch - beside Bambi - in a cage FULL of Zebras! He DOES have a very different song - much prettier! - than the beeps that Sundance and Starburst have. No kidding? My husband will be so excited...and this might also explain why the three other birds don't really pay much attention to him...I will get some more photos ASAP for others' opinions, too!
Thanks Meagan!
