Cage Cleaning

I was wondering if anyone uses a steamer to disinfect their cage/aviary? I have read that some people use them and I was thinking it might be a little cheaper to buy a good steamer than keep buying bleach.

Alright. I was just thinking that a good steamer would save money in the long run.

I bought one of those steamers thinking it would cut the cleaning time of gettin the poop off the bottom grates...NOT. It took so long to soften and then you still had to hit it with the hose to dislodge.
Also even though I had a pretty big unit the nozzle would only cover a few bars at a time. I could clean 10 cages with a pressure washing to 1 steamed cleaned cage (with the assist of hose blast)

I go to the pool store and by chlorine bleach. I mix about 2 cups to the gallon (equivelent to regular bleach) Super cheap this way...just caution. Pool bleach is strong and will eat through everything. Never use full strength.
