Hello,
could anyone tell me how big are the seed hoppers that JustBirdStuff sells? Are they really big?
I am interested in a smaller one, if such exsists.

Also, are they enough reliable so the birds won't dump the whole thing making all the seeds fall to the ground?

Have you checked the website, the photos will give you an idea of their size. I'm guessing they are maybe 4" wide and 7" tall. Not huge, they hold a good amount of seed. Feeding two birds you could probably go a week without adding seed. The catch tray will have to be emptied at least once during the week though. A naughty bird that digs through the seed looking for a particular kind could fill the catch tray up with uneaten seed I suppose. Bu that hasn't yet happened to me.

If you need exact measurements let me know and I will get out my ruler tomorrow.

There is another, smaller brand out there. I have a few that were given to me. I don't like the design as well though. You can only hang them outside the cage door. The ones mentioned above can be hung inside or outside the cage.

I have a bunch of them, and love them. Not only do they help with catching hulls, but I have some birds who love to get in the dish and fling seed all over the place - they can't do that with a hopper. (Sorry, guys!)

could one of you measure them for me please?
I need to know how big they are, if one will fit OK in the cage.
I do not have a flight cage for them, but will be getting one soon.

They are 5 5/8" high, 3" deep and 4" wide. They'll attach inside any cage with horizontal bars, or they fit perfectly on the 30x18x18 cages outside hooked into the seed doors. They are clear so you can see exactly how much seed is left (with either a white or brown top and tray).

I thought the hoppers looked taller.

My seed hopper was shipped today so w/in the next few days I will have it. Can't wait to see what my fids do with it. Sometimes they are so comical.

I got the seed hopper 2 days ago and I love it. There is a dramatic decrease in seed hulls on the floor and not much on the bottom of the cage either.

It was so funny to watch my fids trying it for the first time. I made sure that each knew how to find seeds and of course left one of the old seed dishes in the cage, just in case. But they ALL wanted to check the new "furniture" in their home. LOL
There was a line to the hopper in the morning. First, each one tried it and then two of them would eat at the same time including our diamond dove.

They are a great little invention. Wish I had thought of it. ;)
