Hello finchers!
My Spice finches won't eat the greens, carrots, cucumber, broccoli, etc that I chop up for them. I tried sprinkling it with seed and taking away their other food for a few hours, per Tammy's suggestion, but they still won't touch the stuff. The girl at the pet store said they were very young still. Is it possible that they were weaned too young?
Any other suggestions to introduce them to green food...oh and their cuttlebone, which they also ignore?
Thanks!

Some of mine won't touch the cuttlebone until they are nesting... just make sure it is near a perch that they are on a lot.
Some of my birds won't eat greens either. I have a flight of ten birds, 5 different species and my orange cheek waxbills are the only ones who don't eat any greens or eggfood, even though they see all the other birds eating it.
I would keep trying to offer it, maybe try different things.
It can be frustrating when you spend all that time chopping things and they don't even appreciate it!
