Herb Salad

Post by Raleighwheels » Sat Sep 04, 2010 12:15 am

Has anyone used the herb salad offered on finchniche.com? I recently came across it and thought I might give it a try.

I found "Herb Salad" at our local bird store just this evening and bought some upon the owner's recommendation. She says her birds love it. I'm going to begin offering it tomorrow.

Yes, my entire flock loves Herb Salad! It's like a little herbal birdie medicine chest. They like to make a mess and throw it everywhere though, I assume to get a specific herb from the bottom. It's a challenge to keep it clean and full so they can have the appropriate herbal remedy when they need it:)

I haven't found that yet. I have found some dried field greens at Petsmart and mixed it in with their seed. They love the stuff, but I'm allergic to it! Makes me sneeze.

I keep it in fresh supply in all my Zebra cages but very little ever gets eaten. Probably won't buy it again.

In addition to feeding it to the finches I feed some to my mealworms along with organic greens. The mealworms devour it so I know the finches are getting it also.

All my birds love Herb Salad, including the lovebird. I put it in a separate dish and put a pinch on top of the seed and pellets.
