I think depends on the type finches/birds you keep. What species do you have?

It also depends on your location. If you post your location in your profile, it makes it easier to answer questions at times. The cost of shipping has increased so much that it has forced many to look closer to home for supplies. If you live near Michigan, hermanbros-seed.com is wonderful, as they not only have various mixes available, but they can custom mix seed for you. If you live near New Jersey, then abbaseed.com is a good one. I've heard there are several excellent places on the West Coast that will custom mix for you, but I don't know what they are called.

Zebras are not as picky as other finches, a good seed mix with a serving of Zupreem fruit blend pellets and Roudybush nibbles on the side is what I serve. I was using Katyee Supreme finch seed mix but I am working with Foosa101 on different fresh seed she is offering. So far they love Japenese and Brown top millets.

@Sherrie
When my birds are not breeding I give them a hardboiled egg + veggie mix 3x a week (MWF). When the start breeding then increase up to 3x a day, when I am home, more when they are feeding chicks.
Check the Finch Info Center link on the left and go to the nutrition page then look for the "safe, toxic and unsafe" foods article.
When you give them new food, sometimes it takes quite a while before they decide that what you gave them is food. Just keep giving it to them, and eventually they will try it.
