i put multidrops in the water. i went to the petshop today, and saw like 8 diffrent things. i will have to go back and list them because i was wondering if i can use all at the same time or if they cant be mixed. im going to go to the petshop again today and make a list of items i saw.

my birds just are not going for it...no egg shell no matter how I prepare it. So ok i thought let them try some fresh fruit and gave them an apple core today. OMG! was like a dreaded thing beamed into finch land and NO one would dare go near it...Are my finches just stupid? unique (maybe more politically correct) or just because raise in a petco environment before I got them they know nothing?
serioulsy I have tried egg shell, nice organic lettus, some fruits, no one tries even a bite! they do love however all the fresh growing seedings or spoutings! so not all is terrible in finch land...
ideas?

rkn, I went trough they same struggles to get my birds to eat wet foods and eggshell.
My solution was to prepare a wet mix as suggested by the Finch Information Center (it included eggshell BTW). I then removed all other foods just before dark and only fed the wet mix the next morning, I replaced the other foods about 2 hours later to ensure that there is no starvation but the birds are hungry enough to look for other food. It was slow going but eventually the birds took to the mix and now I notice them preferring the mix to just normal seeds.
After they got used to eating this I then provided eggshell as a free choice in the aviary and they now eat it regularly, I believe it is because they obtained some in the wet mix
Good luck
