I was just wondering if anybody gives their Finches cold cereals as a treat and what kinds do you find they like the most?
I just gave my Finches some crushed corn flakes and they really seemed to like that!
I know when I had bigger birds they loved different cereals as long as they were low in Zinc which is toxic for them if they got too much.

I have never given it to the finches, but I used to have a cockatiel and I gave her crispix. She loved it. I think I will try it on the finches. Do you think it is safe as a treat now and then?

When I had Cockatiels they loved Bran Buds....they practically inhaled those things...lol! But they ate lots of other kinds too...like Cheerios...Wheaties...and Grape Nuts.

The breeder of my finches told me to give them Special K as a treat. Did this yesterday for the first time and they loved it. Even watch one carry a piece into the nesting basket.
Now if I could get them to eat their eggfood and carrotts. They have refused everything that I've offered...parsley, carrotts, grapes and brocolli. I keep taking out what they don't eat and putting in fresh...hoping they will acquire a t taste for it.
I'm wondering if the breeder didn't offer fruits and vegie's.

Do you break up the special K or give it to them whole?
