Re: Seed Hoppers Save Money!
I've been wondering what everybody does when they go on vacation. I haven't had finches long. I just put a lot of seed out for the doves outside, with water, and then ask a friend to stop by once or twice and check on the birds. Now that I have finches, I was not certain what I was going to do. Is that what you all would recommend? Bird hoppers?

I use an outside bird feeder so I can put LOTS of seed in it, we usually go away for a couple weeks at a time. For water I use a gallon chicken waterer. My sons stop in and check here and there just in case something goes wrong but I haven't had an issue yet.

Re: Seed Hoppers Save Money!
am finally happy to say that all the birds are using the seed hopper and there's very little mess and waste!
but i notice that they only eat what they like so that little crack its full of everything that they don't want to eat so i have to go in there every day and scoop that out so they can get to what they like. i guess am gonna have to put together my own seed mix with only the kind that they eat. any thoughts of what kind of vitamins to get to mix with the seeds ???
