Re: growing birdseed
I sprinkle their bird seed, alfalfa, wheatgrass etc on garden dirt in a plastic windowbox liner. I let it grow till it's pretty tall and rotate two planters in and out. They never last long. For seeds I plant in the garden and clip off the top part of the plant for them.

Re: growing birdseed
The seed I hose off the concrete floor of my outdoor aviary flows into a small dirt patch with a drain. The seed that doesn't make it to the drain sprouts and has gotten a foot or so high sometimes before it gets cleared again. Is it contaminated so unuseable for feeding to my Ladies?
