I peel the egg so I can give the shells in a separate dish because they will not go bad, otherwise they would get tossed any left over egg. There is no need to peel the membrane from the shell.

As previously said, the vinegar shouldn't hurt. I dry my shells in the oven on low heat, then grind them in a coffee grinder used only for them. Works great! Just wanted to say, when making eggs for myself, I put 1 tsp. baking soda in the water and they peel with ease.

Thats the way i do it sort of without the food processor i use a fork after boiling for half an hour to kill any nasties and add one arrowroot biscuit per egg just like my grandfather did many years ago..Sally wrote:I do the same, just toss the whole hardboiled eggs in the food processor and chop them up. However, if I'm doing hardboiled eggs for myself, then I do have trouble peeling them, I'll try some of the tips here.finchmix22 wrote: I'm just wondering...I never peel the eggs. I crush them up shell and all for the finches. Did I miss something?![]()

I wanted to see how to easily peel as I had baby chicks but now they are juveniles so they should be fine.
