Blackberry leaves and stems?

Post by emessis » Sun Oct 05, 2008 2:04 pm

This isn't directly finch-related, but I have a young cockatiel who is fond of munching on foliage; what I was wondering is if anyone knows whether blackberry leaves and stems are at all toxic. I take cuttings frequently in order to feed our stick insect colony, and they come from a non-sprayed patch growing behind my house. Thoughts? I haven't seen blackberry mentioned on any of the safe/toxic lists, but I don't expect everything to be shown on those...:)
1 quaker, 5 cockatiels, 4 parakeets, 2 Java sparrows (1 fawn, 1 normal), 1 white gsd, 1 dwarf/rex mix rabbit, 5 chams, 1 sav. monitor, 1 beardie, 1 community fish tank, 1 praying mantis :3

I dont know about cockatiels but I had a blackberry in my aviary and it didnt harm any of my finches.
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.
