Would you give your birds resting season blend all year around if you aren`t breeding them?
Or would you still use breeding and moulting season blend some time of the year eventho you don`t want them breed?
I don`t have space so i won`t let my birds to have any more babies but i do let them lay eggs otherwise green singer male start plucking.
I have resting season blend and also breeding & moulting season blend from http://www.finchniche.com/ A little confused how to use them.
Would you suggest a different blend of seeds like a custom made mix to use all year around without changing their seed diet?

Re: Question about seed mixes from lady gouldian finch
Great question! I am confused about this mix, which I use also. It says "breeding and moulting" blend, two of the most critical times for our finches and canaries. I decided to use it thinking my birds would get what they needed by "choice". The "resting" blend has less to choose from, so I thought the more choices the better!?! I give them lots of other choices like fresh greens, apples, Miracle Meal, fresh boiled eggs with shell, etc. So what is the verdict? What do you guys use?

metinemre and@Jen.
No expert but here's my two cents worth...
When I go shopping for seed, I buy different types of Canary seed mixes (I buy by bulk) Then I get different types of Finch seed mixes. Then I get some insect pate, and some bags of singing, conditioning, treat etc. When I get home, I get out all my big bowls and mix it all together. I store in ice cream buckets (which neigbors and friends save for me) I lable them as Bird Seed, and date them to keep track of things, so that they don't get old. Whenever I open a new bucket, everything smells fresh and great, never rancid or stale. I also keep a bucket of fortified grit , and a bucket of dry meal worms, which I crush before offering. Spray millet, which I offer regularily, is kept sealed in a plastic bag. I find that everything stays fresh.
Of course, there are always fruits and veggies and the never ending supply of hard- boiled eggs and crushed shells.

Insect pate??? Where do you shop????

Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild.
