Daily Soft Food/Chop

Post by cindy » Thu Dec 18, 2014 5:03 pm

Warmed peas (drained an whirled in the Ninja chopper for one or two whirls to loosen the skin and split the peas for easier manageability), cooked brown rice, cooked quinoa, dry Roudybush Sierra Sunset soak and feed and dried eggfood plus powdered vitamins...this is offered to all my birds from tiny Goldbreasts to my GCConure and it all disappeared fast!

You can do this with several variations from finely chopped kale, carrots, spinach, parsley, frozen mixed veggies and boiled grated egg.

cindy
That looks good enough to eat :-).

My mix contains,
-Fresh boiled eggs, put through a garlic press.
-Pulverised freeze dried meal worms
-Crumbled spray millet seeds
-Tropimix egg food, crushed almost to a powder
Mix it together with a fork.

It goes like hot dogs in a Boy Scout jamboree :-).

My vegies are served this way:

Tropimix is by Hagen, and it is much more available in Canada than the U.S. I alternate adding this to my egg food to dry it out with using Volkman's Gourmet Eggfood.

I love the Volkman egg food, it is my favorite. For a while, I ordered it direct from CA, but then shipping got so expensive. Then one of our bird club members convinced a local feed store to carry it. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough demand for it for them to carry it for just a few of us, so they discontinued it. To my delight, one of the vendors at our local mart is now carrying it.

I have been using the Higgins Snack Attack Egg Food, I buy in several 20lb bags at a time... Not many outlets for different products in large sizes regarding egg food so I was thrilled a place I order from carries it.
