Foraging dish

My birds love it when I bring them a foraging dish into the aviary.
I don't do this as often as I should. This one contains some chickweed, collards and turnips from the garden and just a few dried leaves etc. from under the pecan tree.

They can't wait for me to sit it down. This is mostly the gouldians and their chicks.....

No, the birds are not real in the background. :lol: It is a dish with Herb Salad in it.

Liz, these are all things available to me only in the winter. Chickweed grows only in the winter and those are winter vegetables.
In the summer I grow them some corn on the cob which they LOVE and some green peas. :lol: Along with lots of different lettuces. I know they are spoiled! :lol:

Wonderful photos....look at all those pretty birds....even the fake ones! :D

I like the second photo with that lilac brested gouldian standing there looking like he is the boss watching everybody as if he was saying "Everybody Share and Use Your Indoor Voices at the Table"... :lol:
