Herb salad

Post by erine » Tue Oct 06, 2015 10:26 am

This question may have been asked before, but does anyone else grow their own 'herb salad?' I'm somewhat limited in what I can get in my area and shipping to Canada can be pricey and take forever. Could I grow my own and occasionally offer them a selection of herbs? If so, what would you include? Thanks,
Erin

scroll down for some safe herbs... http://www.cockatielcottage.net/houseplants.html

the only one I was told not to use by our avian vet was garlic, it can cause issues with red blood cells rupturing in some species so best to avoid it in all species.

We can buy a bird herb salad here in SA but it is expensive for the amount you get. What I ended up doing was going to a local health shop and I bought the individual herbs (what Debbie listed above) and I mixed them together to make my own herb mix. It worked out much cheaper and I now have a herb mix that will last about a year (kept in cool area in tupperware).

I also use the large seeding trays and plant out herbs to grow for my birds. They love it, especially clover
