Better Silos Help

Post by AEinarr » Thu Dec 31, 2015 11:31 pm

I was looking for better water and food silos and came upon these

"Funnel Seed Feeder
This feeder hangs on the outside of the cage and is wide open for easy refills. To be used on small seeds only, like finch and canary seed. Not recommended for water.
1.5" d x 4.75" high

Open funnel top for easy refills.

Only works with very small seeds"

"Livorno Siphon - 400cc - 14oz
Plastic bird waterer from Italy - 2.5" diameter x 6.00" high with a long lip. Easy on and off and holds almost 14 ounces, 400 cc. Available in Blue and Clear. Fits 1/2" vertical cage bars. I love these water bottles!
400 cc or almost 14oz
Fits 1/2" vertical wire cages easily
Comes in Clear and Blue plastic
About 6" tall and 2.5" wide
Easy off and on for quick water changes
I use a set of clear and a set of blue and change back and forth, helps me to keep track of where I'm at and be sure everyone gets fresh water!
These tubes work great for the smaller birds like finches and canaries
Top Rack Dishwasher safe"

But, sadly, because glamgouldians.com got ripped off by ONE Canadian(who ruined it for everyone else, what a jerk), she no longer ships to Canada!
I've looked everywhere and these are perfect, anyone have any idea where else I can get them decently priced?
I need a lot of them. (32 of each)

I can't help you with the first item, but I use those waterers shown in the second photo (I love them too!). I buy them in bulk from www.birdsupplynh.com, but I don't know if they ship to Canada.

I love the idea of the Funnel Seed Feeder. My societies poop in their seed bowls (heck they poop in everything). This would be GREAT for them, as I feel I waste a lot of seed in their cages. Thanks for the tip on that item! =D>

I must thank you for posting such a marvellous find. I think that funnel seed feeder is brilliant. Hope I can get one like it one of these days. Small 'miracles' like this do happen at times. :D
I Love Finches, Especially Strawberries.
I keep my Strawberry pair in a non-flight cage due to space constraints. If I have my way, I'll go for a flight cage or keep a hundred finches in a huge aviary. :)

Babs It looks great right? lol They're highly recommended. My Bengalese (societies) always poop in their food and water and using small readily available at walmart silos I have to refill and replace daily even without contamination being an issue x.x

@finchboy No worries mate! Not sure where you're from but if youre in the USA just head to the aforementioned website (www.glamgouldians.com) to place an order :)
Use PayPal if you can, it's more secure.

UPDATE: I was able to order from glamgouldians.com, I had to message the owner directly and there was a lot of running around and hoops to jump through but I got there! She's a great person to deal with so if you live outside of the USA and the checkout won't go through just toss her an email and ask nicely

I'd imagine the seed funnel feeders would clog up very easily having such a small opening for the seed to get out

I use this type and find them great once you keep an eye on the husk tray to make sure it's not full
