Thanks Sally..

I wonder the same about the store bought millet sprays. My birds are starting to accept it.

Here is a pic of the Millet sprays from the box I purchased. They are huge compared to the store items.

I have been getting my millet from a dealer at a local flea market [very good store good quality] I get a 5lb.box its not as big as the California but it smells and looks very good my birds love it,the last box was $14.00 this a good saving because of shipping. The only difference I can see is the size of the millet sprays, but both box's are still 5 lb. one has more total sprays one less but both still 5 lb.
Is the fact that its larger make it better for the birds or do you think it has more nutrient than the smaller.?

If it looks and smells very good, and your birds love it, I'd stay with the $14 box! It's always better if you can get decent food locally, as shipping is just awful right now.

Sally has a good point Bill. Why pay for shipping on a box of sprays that is actually costing you more and you're experiencing them not eating it with too much enthusiam? The only reason why I buy the larger sprays is because my birds really love it, it's cheaper (even with postage), and it looks fresher than what I can find here. If I find a 5 lb box at the bird mart, I buy those too. Only problem is that there aren't a lot of marts around where I live.

I got my huge California millet from Fairest Finches and it's wonderful. It's the nicest I've ever seen. I might give it a nibble myself  Think it will make me sing better? #-o

I picked them up at the last bird mart in Fort Worth. I'm going to try and grow my own. I'll plant the 'left over' store bought seeds and some of the others. Guess i'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for all your suggestions..
