Misty you can get maggots from most shops that sell bait for fishing.
not that I have ever bought any, always breed my own, easier & quicker than mealworms (even Liz would be able to manage it

)
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

OK, mick, tell us how you breed maggots (not sure I want to do this, but if it is easier than mealworms..).

Sally, I don't think that is easier than mealworms.

I'm with Donna on this one. Seems much more complicated to kieep flies in a container that beetles.

your just scared to have maggots crawling on your hands

feels exactly the same as the mealworm do
once you have it set up then it is (IMO) easier than mealworm also a lot quicker.
suppose though that it isnt for everyone. there's no way I could ever have a snake for a pet but I know lots of people who think they are the best pet there is.

I repeat my earlier comment.... sounds like a lot of work. I have read several articles on this raising of maggots and most say what mickp say...once established it is easier
I have a hard enough time remembering to dampen the meal worm sponges...much less mist flies twice a day
