An older gentleman who has been breeding birds for 20-30 years told me just this year that One single drop of iodine in the drinkers prevents alot of dead in the shell during breeding season.

Wow - I use it much more diluted than that. hi i have used a few drops of vanodene v17 in the water and since doing this it has cured my bald gouldians in a couple of weeks,so i can recommend this and is inexpensive dont know if its available in u.s. though.

I have used vanodine 18 for cleaning very bird safe I just checked the website and it don't seem to be working ,it also said it was safe to add to there water but I don't have that information any more
