Mine absolutely love shredded carrots!! They'll even take a piece out of my hand sometimes (although it might take up to 15 minutes before one will get brave enough to get that close to me!!)

Depends on my birds! I have waxbills who will attack a dish of mealworms before my hand is out of the cage, others who love cucumber slices, and societies and goulds who love their eggfood.

Spray millet for most of mine, though the CBs do love their mealworms.

New Zeb Progress: Finally after a week sleeps in the nest with the others. Has taught the others to eat their veggies!

Isn't it funny how they all like different things? Just like people! I tried the cooked sweet potato with mine, and they wouldn't even try it. Someone here on the forum mentioned dandelions, and I have tons of them in my yard (no poisons applied to the grass) so I harvested some greens for them and they love them--so there's good use for those weeds! I make bird bread (just cornbread mix made with a dozen eggs), and they love that.

Most of my waxbills like the musquito larvaes the most. My crimsonwings like all kinds: buffalo worms, ant eggs... The hen attacks the musquito larvaes, the cock the buffalo's.
