Romaine lettuce is by far the winner with all the birds. That's the only one that ALL of my birds go nuts for and eat reliably every time (except my weavers, who won't touch it).

Other favorites that are more hit & miss, meaning some will clean the bowl, others will just dabble/eat a bit are: bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, brussel sprouts, kale, chicory, spinach.

My canaries love fruits and just about any vegetable I give them. Apples, pears, and romaine lettuce are big favorites with them.

My canary will eat any mixed greens, Brocholi, Brussel Sprouts (yech!) - esp. the middle or heart of it. He also loves slices of apple. My star finches eat greens as well, but not as much. They have also all eaten slices of orange, and one loves eating the inside of grapes.

I just blended some broccoli and carrots in to a paste and mixed it in with eggfood and sprouted seeds. They seem to like it so far. Normally I give them baby spinach and they go crazy.

I just answered to the "greens" question, so I didn't mention that mine love corn as well. I use frozen corn kernels and microwave for about 30-40 seconds. All my birds love that and get it about once a week.
I also feed finely grated carrots and zucchini daily.

I feed gouldians spinach, but they don't seem terribly interested in it.

I also take a bag of frozen mixed veggies, nuke it, wait for it to cool to room temp, and offer some of that to them. They seem to like that OK, but they do not go wild over it.

My parrotlet, however, will eat almost anything I put in her bowl. She's a little piggy.

I forgot to mention, I also give them the dried herb salad mix. They didn't show an interest at first, but now it seems as though they are warming up to it.

My societies love romaine. Grated carrot, some, but love cooked carrot. They dive into it, with the result that I usually have orange splashes on the wall behind the cage. They will eat green peas, cooked and popped out of hull. They have the same attitude I do to broccoli - yuck.

Corn - they would bargain away their little birdie souls for it. I buy the frozen cobs and cook them normally. I cut off the kernals, not too close, for me, and let them clean up the cobs. I use the short cobs, and split them lengthwise so they lie flat on the cage floor and don't roll around.

I haven't been able to generate much interest in anything else.

Mine love the leafy green lettuce. I usually give them romaine though...... and fresh corn on the cob is a favorite!

For those that are offering corn on the cob, are you all cutting the corn off the cob and just letting them pick at the semi-empty cob or are you offering the corn chopped off the cob, giving them the whole cob & they handle the rest?

I offered mine corn on the cob once or twice and they really never touched it. I must be doing something wrong?

Mine LOVE kale and cucumber. Some of them also love bananas, apples, carrots ground up.
I gave them green pepper, chopped up really finely, for the first time the other day. They ALL went nutso for it, even the timid ones, who never try anything!
I really want to try onion, because they get very vocal when I cut them, but I'm not sure if it's okay for them.

When I feed corn it is always fresh and not frozen. I just wash it and put it on a dish cob and all. They clean that side and then I turn it over! No nutritional I think..... but they love it as a treat. I only give it to them once a week.

I give it right on the cob, but I slice the cob into 5 or 6 little "wheels" and lay one on it's side on the bottom of the cage. That way it doesn't roll around when they try to eat it and the partially cut kernels on the ends seem to initially draw their attention to it better. Bob
