You know i haven't been having trouble posting but when you tagged me in the thread Dylan and another thread you tagged me in Elana I didn't get the pm notifying me. I get them for some threads, but others I stumble across and see where I've been mentioned...

I don't know what's going on.
Yesterday was really bad for some reason. I'd get things like Web page not found. Or Internal Server Error. Just weird stuff like things disappearing, or so slow that you just give up on it and hit the submit again, ending up with multiple posts. Or things just not going through, pictures that won't show up, being told that the picture is too big once, then have It go through the next time.

I haven't been on a lot the last few days, but when I am, I have noticed that it has been slow to submit posts, or I get duplicate posts, etc. Even sending PMs has been slow. Crystal is trying out something new, so hopefully this will speed things up. So far tonight, it is fast as can be for me.

As far as the colored pellets, I don't like them, because they can change the color of the poop if the birds eat them. You see a splotch of red and think one of your birds has been bleeding, only to realize it is just the darned colored pellets! Many of the softbills like the Lafeber's fruit pellets, which are a rainbow of colors--but the cage bottoms of softbills fed this diet are a rainbow of poop!

Had to chuckle over the 'rainbow of poop' . The other day had a bit of a scare. Red poop in my Gouldian parents cage. Then I remembered that they had been enjoying some beet greens and stalks the day before and some red swiss chard the day before, sheesh!

I would avoid seed with pellets mixed in it and anything that says fortified. The fortified coating is useless and gives the pet owner a false sense that they are giving their birds a nutritionally balanced diet. The coating is on the outside of the hull, hull is peeled away and discarded.

The seed with the pellets... garbage and a waste. If you do a diet and want to include pellets try getting a fresh seed mix, adding pellets like Roudybush, Lafebers, Zupreem to the mix or serve separately. It is usually fresher and better balanced.

Colored pellets can contain BHT and BHA and dyes.

That's what I thought as well. Don't like the idea of dyes in their food, even if they don't eat them. Plus the shops charge more for these silly things that are really good for nothing.
