thanks for the ideas, i found a liquid that contains, manuka honey, honey dew, garlic, apple cider vinegar and seaweed extract.
the thoughts about the iodine i do provide it in the soft food and as a natural salt/mineral rock in the avery. But you can never be sure that the bird that needs it eats or uses it.
As for mites she has been treated for them even though i saw no evidence of the little suckers.
so i will add this to the water and see whether it helps.
thanks everybody

Why not back off all of the supplement and give your birds a normal diet of seeds, greens and a little egg food. Give the bird up to a year to molt out or take it to the vet.
This bird has access to fresh greens, fruits and sprouted seed every day. i try to use natural minerals found in the food rather then the constant artificial mineral supplements. i am trying using herbs as well to provide the nutrients that are missing in the birds diets. they seem to pick out what they need as they need it and leave what they are not lacking in the bowl. none of my other birds look like this one so i am not sure whether she was plucked for nesting material to start with and as her feather come in she plucks more out herself. :?

What effect does garlic, honey and melon have?
Manuka honey & honey dew have been added to the garlic, apple cider vinegar & seaweed extract to provide more beneficial active enzymes, more vitamins & more trace elements to boost protection against harmful internal fungi & microbes. The antiseptic values of the natural peroxide found in manuka honey can be a distinctive aid to internal healing. manuka honey from New Zealand has been shown to have higher antibacterial activity than other tested honeys
honey dew: Instead of taking nectar, bees can take honeydew, which appears similar to honey and consists of the sweet secretions of aphids or other plant sap-sucking insects.
Garlic is known to prevent worms as does the apple cider vinegar.
all in all this mix is given to a lot of animals in New Zealand with great results, But until now i never thought to give it to my birds.
Hope this helps to explain why i am trying it.
