Misty you can get maggots from most shops that sell bait for fishing.
not that I have ever bought any, always breed my own, easier & quicker than mealworms (even Liz would be able to manage it :lol: )

OK, mick, tell us how you breed maggots (not sure I want to do this, but if it is easier than mealworms..).

I'm with Donna on this one. Seems much more complicated to kieep flies in a container that beetles. :roll:

your just scared to have maggots crawling on your hands :lol: feels exactly the same as the mealworm do :D
once you have it set up then it is (IMO) easier than mealworm also a lot quicker.
suppose though that it isnt for everyone. there's no way I could ever have a snake for a pet but I know lots of people who think they are the best pet there is.

I repeat my earlier comment.... sounds like a lot of work. I have read several articles on this raising of maggots and most say what mickp say...once established it is easier

I have a hard enough time remembering to dampen the meal worm sponges...much less mist flies twice a day :shock:
