Some mealworm prices!!! YUM!!!

My would not eat these either. They were scared of them!

Now that you have more Waxbills Donna - you should try them again if you wanted too - my birds fought over them. Like the Parsons would glare at the bird that wanted some too - they would be like OK - I'll come back later. And, then the others would all get into the bowl and not 2 minutes later they would all be gone. I have to say this is when I got my Cordon Bleu's, Strawberries, Goldbreasts, Owls, Fire Finches and a few others to breed for me... so for me it wasn't all bad.

BTW - my Cutthroats were one of the species that fought over them...

I gave my shaftails some last night. Their cage is about 4 ft from the table. I put a nice steak on the grill, set the table for my husband, daughter and myself. Well my daughter went to sit down and looked at her emplty plate which is on the other side of the table from the cage...I think the shaftails were using her plate as target practice! YUK! (these were canned, not alive)

Moving the cage today, they even have a plexiglass guard around the cage that is 18 inches around the bottom. They had to fling it up and over the plastic guard!

That is what mine do with the canned roasted ones - use them for target practice!

It was really funny and we were cracking up about it later wondering how that bird did it!!! Not to worry, she is still laughing and told me tonight for dinner "hold the mealworms, Mom!" (teenagers! to me it was hysterical, what is a little finch humor ...she just was not amused at that moment)
