Tiffany try this....grind the red millet to a powder and give it to them.

I boiled the white millet and red this weekend and gave each cage a dish of a 1/2 tsp of each....the owls and zebras loved it. The BC chicks that were weaning loved it.

I am going to try to grind the Nyger seed and see if they like that.

The white proso millet and red millet along with some Zupreem finch fruit blend pellets is a good basic mixfor parakeets...I took this mix and added it to the ABBA parakeet seed mix. The parakeet ate the red millet and white proso, leaving just hulls behind!

no electric coffe grinder????? Try boiling it for 20 minutes and letting it cool, do a small amount of the sseds they are not eating. See if they will eat it that way.

Hamilton Beach makes a really nice grinder, the cup even comes out for $14.99 at WalMart.

I have looked alllll around, including panel and faq, yet cannot see how to do this. I have a feeling it is so simple I'm not noticing...someday I'll post like a real forum participant.... [-o<
