Re: KALE!!!!
Corkysgirl, You said you don't want to give the birds stuff from your garden because of manure issues, but you could wash it in a vinegar solution, then rinse. I do that with some veggies I get at the organic market, mainly because I see people putting their hands all over the stuff, and it makes me feel better.

Re: KALE!!!!
delray, I know the kids must love you and it's a two way street. When we reach out to bless others, we're the ones that end up blessed! I have to send you a video through pm. It's a camp video. So cute!
@KarenB that's a good idea. Thanks! I am very paranoid about it because of my girl and her chronic eye infection, but I also think it was a weak immune system issue. I will try that with everyone except Old Man because he's 10 1/2 and I worry about him. The brat got out tonight too while I was installing a corner shelf in his cage. I He never tries to come out when he has eggs so I wasn't ready for his mad dash! He had labored breathing afterward. He got into some dusty plants by the windowsill. I hope he didn't breathe it in. It's always something!

Re: KALE!!!!
KarenB, I can imagine. You have quite a variety of birds and always someone being born or fledging...and then too your little Annie! And you have a Boston Terrorist I see. Cute! I had a 1/2 Boston Terrier and 1/2 "whatever got over the fence." She was quite a dog!

Re: KALE!!!!
I know this is an older thread, but I thought I'd throw another thought in here. I was using some frozen Collard greens for a dish I was making for DH and I. I added some water to about a 1/2 cup of the frozen greens and whirled it in my blender. My birds loved it! So try frozen greens as well.

Re: KALE!!!!
My canaries go wild for the kale, but my javas won't come near it. Come to think of it, my javas haven't liked any veggies or fruits that I've offered them so far. They ate the eggfood, but nothing "fresh". Very finicky javas!!!
