So I use this in my cages now, and my societies seem to enjoy eating it??? Is this ok?

I think I read that it can harm birds if they eat it, so I would take it out if I were you.

I use it under the grate in my budgie cage. They can't reach it so I'm not worried they will ingest any.

There is some danger with mould, so you have to take care and check it frequently for that. Especially under water and/or bathing dishes.

I have used it for years and have had no problems though.

I have some in my Gouldian's cage. They don't eat it though.

On the bag it simply says, 'Ingestion should be avoided'.

Well none of my other birds ingest it.... just my societies... and I don't know if they are actually eating it or searching through the bedding for some fallen food or herb salad. I'm looking for other alternatives but corn cob is one of the cheapest and the one where you can't see all the fallen poop.

Corn cob is dangerous to birds as they can become inpacted when they eat it and that will kill them. It's happened to many parrots.

Mold as well, as stated.

I stick to good ol' newspaper!

If you don't like that, maybe try shredded paper?

What is herb salad?
