Neem tea anyone?

The information from the below link has put me into consideration of putting my finches on a neem tea routine for a month or so. I have tried it for a week before though. If anyone within this forum uses neem tea too, is it effective?

That's so weird. I was just on that site this very moment :) I've been on her site many times and have read from her site the use of neem tea for quite a while now. I must say I like her natural approach for preventative treatments 100% times better then all the harsh medications out there now.

I agree, the more natural the better! Lainey, your site is awesome as well as your approach :!:
When I first started actively breeding my flock I bookmarked your site as favorite and visit often for any new updates.
I have not ever used the tea though.... maybe I will try it sometime.

I have tried it with success and with deaths so be very careful!

Join her yahoo group as Lainey likes to be part of anyone using the neem because there are too many people that don't understand or don't buy the right product to make the tea....

I gonna try it during next year, however, i have a live neem plant. I mainly used it for de-worming purposes so i'm not sure i will see any result.

@ Renee, what a coincident :o , Lainey's site is excellent, i especially like the greenery pics she provided and most importantly the natural approaches/remendies.

@ Misty, i have joined the group since last year, didnt visit much though. I posted here because over here the members seem to be more interactive and humorous. What illness that caused the death cases?

The deaths could only be attributed to not drinking the neem tea. :? So, you have to watch the birds carefully at first.

Either way good luck with your birds it really is a wonderful tea and Lainey's birds are always the perfect picture of health :)

I personanlly think neem tea is great, i dont think my zebra finches would be alive today if it wasnt for it. They were clicking with asm alot and i was desperate to find some medicine that was natural and available to me in the uk.
Within 2 weeks my zebra finches went from very inactive tired weak birds to really happy and hyperactive once again. I used it for 6 weeks to be on the safe side as they seemed to have been badly affected by the air sac mites.

True, i have started using the neem tea this week but mine was from live plant, i usually have 2 cups for drinks so 1 cup water the other neem. They dont seem to drink the one with neem that much. As you said, if i were to use 2 cups with neem then i got to watch the birds carefully.

Thanks

Here in many parts of Asia people drink neem tea and also take bath of neem tea for various diseases.

For powerful neem tea, instead of boiling 'leaves and branches' soak them in normal water for 48 to 72 hours (or before it starts smelling bad). Strain water in clear bucket. TEA is ready.

May it also be sprayed on cage or birds?

Please do research before attempting on birds.
:)

Hello adnan and welcome to the Finch Forum! We'd love to know a little more about you and any birds you may have. I hope you will take a moment to introduce yourself over in the Introductions Forum which can be found by clicking on Board Index (at the top-left of the screen) and scolling down to Introductions. =D>

Hello Everyone,

Be very careful with NEEM. It is good but some parts also works as a contraceptive. I remembered last time with Black cheeks all 6 eggs were infertile. Dont know the exact reason but I used neem.

Thankyou.

Has anyone else used this recently? I want to treat my entire flock for air sac mites (ASM) as a precaution but do not want to use SCATT. I have SCATT on hand, but it is tedious to catch each individual bird to treat and I would like something more natural. I'm scared to hear that MLaRue had birds possibly die from this.....I guess natural is not always good? Anyone else who has used tea from Neem leaves? :?:

If you are interested in natural remedies and/or how to use neem tea, you might want to join this yahoo group. Lainey Alexander has lots of information on neem tea on there, and she is very quick to reply to posts. And she has an excellent reputation!
