So I bought a Sun-Ripened Pineapple Mineral Treat and was wondering if it is good for finches? Here is the breakdown of calcium, etc and ingredients. Oh, and it is made by Premium 8in1.

Calcium (Min.) 16%
Phosphorous (Min.) 0.015%
Salt (Min.) 0.3%

Ingredients: Calcium Sulfate, Calcium Carbonate, Ground Limestone, Salt, Oyster Shell Flour, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodie, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Sulfate, Artificial Color, and Natural Flavors.

***Please take note that I also will be feeding boiled egg mashed up with crumbled baked egg shells.***

Thanks everyone! :D

I've had that in my cages before - most of my finches didn't touch it. Good luck with yours. I had better luck with the pink square or rectangular mineral block, no much but a little more of the finches nibbled at it some loved it.

If they don't go for it whole, grate it along with a few cuttlebones (use a fine grater) then mix with powdered oyster shell. I do this for my birds and they love it. Grating or grinding in a food processor for some reason makes it more desirable to eat. The only birds that seem to like it whole have been my hookbills.
