Sage & Tangerines?

We just bought a whole bunch of fresh sage leaves for a recipe we're going to use for Easter. We won't be using the whole sprig of sage we bought, and I don't see myself using it on other things we cook before it will all go bad. We also bought an extra tangerine that we don't need for the recipe.
Can my finches have fresh torn up sage leaves or would this be bad for them? What about the tangerine as long as the seeds are removed?

I have given other varieties of oranges, including clementines (a cousin of the tangerine) to my finches, so it would seem that tangerines would be okay too. As for the sage, I have no idea one way or the other.

Thanks. I gave them a section of tangerine but they didn't seem too interested in it. They wanted the crushed boiled egg I put in the other treat cup.
Maybe next time, since the tangerine was a "scary" new food.
I'll probably pass on the sage, just in case, unless someone comes along that knows its ok.

Many people give oranges but be careful with giving fruit because it can cause yeast infections. In addition, most fruit doesn't really offer a lot nutritionally.
Something to be aware of.
