We discussed soy a while back...I'll see if I can find the post.
I used edamane for a protein source for my uromastyx, they loved it warmed. The had good body weight and their body color was brighter and healthier looking. Not sure what it would do for birds.
There has been debates over human use of the product like tofu and soy in regards to females and linking it to hormones and cancer. I discussed this with my doctor and he said it is fine, no real proof it is harmful.

I Googled "soy protein isolate for finches", there are many sites in regards to this. Suprisingly Zupreem fruit pellets contain it as does Kaytee hand feeding formula.
according to the information I found for Sally some of the pellets and handfeeding formulas contain it.

If already using a product containing soy I would be careful and adding more soy so as to not overdo it.
