Charcoal

An article I was reading said my birds (Masked Grass Finches) wouldn't breed without charcoal in their diet. If they require it, I want to give it to them, but how... Does it come in grit? My packaged oyster shell doesn't have a listing for it, but maybe it's there anyway. If anyone has a good charcoal source for me I'd appreciate it.

Thx!

Most pet shops sell bird (or finch) grit. I mix it into the grit - most of the charcoal disappears before the grit here.

I use the following charcoal and mix it into the oyster shell.

Most pet shops carry the 8 in 1 which I use also.

Ladygouldianfinch has charcoal too. I always have some available for the birds free choice in a small cup and the gouldians really like it. http://www.ladygouldianfinch.com/shop-cuttle.php

I get the calcium/charcoal/mineral mix from Frisky Finches (online). It's got everything a bird could want! And they love it!
Premium Crushed Oyster Shell Blend with "Extra" Calcium, Vitamins, Minerals, Charcoal & Organic Iodine... It's inexpensive and lasts forever.
