I cant remember who posted the link for the video with the recipe for making those yummy sweet potatoe balls (there was a little green parrotlet in the video)
Anyways I made some today for all my birds, which they are going nuts for BTW!
Especially the parrotlets.
I have a question about storing them. I have them in the fridge right now, but can I freeze them?
Im only worried about the defrosting part. I dont want them to become really watery
If I
cant freeze them, how long can they last in the fridge? I have quite alot lol didnt realize how many balls they made.

Here's the link to the post:

She did say that you can freeze them.
I haven't tried the balls yet, but I got some Quinoa and cooked that as directed and gave it to my birds. The parrotlets liked it a lot! The other birds didn't eat much of it, but that's not unusual when I try something new. It always takes them a while to realize that this is also food.

Thanks Ursula

Yea my finches are the same, the only thing they go crazy for is the egg food. This newer food they pick at and takes a while for them to get used to. My parrotlets on the other hand, take pretty much anything I give them, and they just loved this.
Has anyone else tried these balls?
I see that now they can be put in the freezer. I just would like to hear from others on how the defrosting went. Mushy? Wet? or defrosted well?

I don't know if these are the same, but I made the ones that JohnBoy posted about. My birds really liked them, especially the European Goldfinches. I just put a couple in the fridge and put the rest in a ziplock baggie in the freezer. I get one out and put it (frozen) on their greens tray every morning. I imagine in the fridge they would last the same as any perishable food. I have a 3-day limit.
