Finches not eating Eggs!

I have a pair of finches (possibly juvenile spice finch). I gave them boiled eggs in a plate. I shredded the eggs into very small, eatable pieces before serving but they don't seem to even touch it. Am I missing something? I just hard boiled a white egg, shredded both the white and yellow portion of it using a fork and served them in white ceramic plate. Is that how I should serve it?

Also, do they eat both white and red shell eggs?

that should be fine, but sometimes finches are very silly and won't test new food right away. You might need to offer it to them a few times before they test it :)

My finches don't like 'wet' eggs, so I have to add dry material to the mashed eggs to make it drier. You can add something as simple as enriched cornmeal, or you can add some nestling food or commercial dry eggfood. Try adding some and seeing if that helps. And you may have to give them some time, some finches don't go for new things readily.

I grate it with a fine cheese grater and started adding enriched cornmeal to it (thank you Sally) and all down it completely.
