Do finch birds eat earthworms in their natural habitat? is it ok to feed earthworm to our finches in captivity?

I would not use earthworms from your yard or bait store. I recommend either mealworms or eggfoods. My breeding experience with zebras is that eggfood is preferred.

I'm sure in the wild they would eat any little critters they came across. To avoid giving your birds any diseases or parasites I'm not sure I would go out and dig up worms from outside though.

I was just curious if someone can use their worm from composter to feed the Finches not to get them from outside.
And also according to the Finch Information Center link, it mentioned the earthworms in the nutrients section so I want to know if that what the Finch eat at their habitat beside the seeds.
