LeFebers finch pellets expire?

Post by FancyFinch » Sun May 27, 2012 3:12 pm

I have some that I just noticed expired on 5/10/12. Should I just throw it out or how far past the date can I actually use it?

I'd call the number and ask them. They'll want the code on the container to tell you the shelf life.

I think they say "best if used by"
So you have extra time.
I would still use it 6 months later.

The only real concern that I have is stuff in the food that might "go bad."

Thanks. My husband works in the food industry, assistant facility manager for a Cargill Inc. flour mill. The best used buy would still be acceptable until its gone. He explained its a sales tactic to make you think you need to use it all so you'll buy more. Of course, this doesn't apply to everything! Lol all in all, the pellets are perfectly fine to continue using.
