New "DinnerWare" For My Birdies

I stopped in at the GoodWill store yesterday and strolled through the kitchen section to try to find some small heavy dishes to use for my birds treats and veggies.

The plastic ones I was using (actually they were just plastic peanut butter jar covers) were not quite big enough so all the Finches could sit there at once. And my Lovebirds love to flip anything that is plastic upsidedown...thus...dumping the contents all over the place...

So I saw these little 6 inch plates that looked perfect. And they even had a bird design on them!! How could I NOT get them...lol. They are nice and heavy ceramic so they should prevent the Lovies from flipping the plate and the Finches can all sit around it together. And the best part was I got the 3-pack for $1.00! Ohhh..I LOVE a good deal!

And I am also sharing a pic of a new Finch toy I bought too....nothing like spoiled rotten birds...right?

Well...I justify the purchases because I don't have any Grandchildren to spoil yet.

I love the plates, that's a great find. How do your birds like that toy so far?

Beccafigs....the Zebras really do most of the playing with the new toy....the Gouldians just zip around it. The Zebras like to sit on the rings and then play with the tassles. When they get bored of it I will just put it on the Lovies cage....they will demolish it in no time....lol!

Love the toy. Do you think a society finch would play with something like that? I want to get them something more than what they have...the toys they have now usually go untouched :? i would like to introduce something else, just not sure what

Like the plate too. Good find.

Lyderbug I am not familiar with the personality of society finches as I don't have any but if they are curious like Zebras they might go for it.

It if funny to watch the Zebras when I put some new food or toys in the bottom of the cage...they will start beeping to each other really fast as if they are saying "what's that?...do you think we should check it out?.....let's GO!" :P

Featherharp: Thanks! I'll try something similiar to that and see what happens.

I love when finches get curious. They make the sweetest sounds when I put a piece of lettuce or millet in their cage.

 I just put in a dish of cut up dandilion leaves, They started beeping
to each other also,....... then dove in head first, tasting & flinging pieces,
then sat an ate the whole amount in the dish,...really funny \:D/

Wondering if they can also eat the yellow flower :?: :?:
