Has anyone used brown eggs to make eggfood? Are there any benefits from them that white eggs don't offer? I feel like this a silly question, but I still was wondering  I know people say they taste better, but that's about all I know about them.

We raised chickens also....we had brown eggs and also the green and blueish eggs from our Araucana chickens. Our kids loved the green ones!

But to answer your question....NO....there is no nutritional or taste difference between white...brown or even green eggs. :D

Thanks guys, that's about what I figured. Just curious. I think I'll give them a try to see how the birds like them. Atleast if nothing else their eggfood will be more colorful!

I was told by a chicken farmer that there is no difference between white eggs and brown eggs, as far as nutrition. A lot of people believe the brown eggs are better for you, so the price of brown eggs is lots more than plain white eggs. The farmer said it is just a case of taking advantage of the market--if people are willing to pay more for brown eggs, he is happy to take their money!

I think its a placebo effect on people. Many tend to think brown eggs mean free farmed or organic, when in reality it is only a difference in shell color.

On the other hand...some people think that brown eggs are "Dirty" so they won't eat them!

Its just the color of the shell. Remember its what is inside that counts :D

Wow! I thought there would be more of a difference between them than the price! We already had some and they will be the last we buy. I tried them with my birds and they acted scared of the brown shell anyway. They wouldn't touch it at all and they love eggfood. They are such skittish little creatures!

The difference is about the same as regular unleded or super unleaded, you pay for whats printed on the carton. (although I do realize some older cars need a better grade of gas, this was the best I could do)

So what are you saying HJ....Which eggs are the leaded ones...the white or brown? Then I suppose that would mean the green eggs are "Premium"?

Well they would both be leaded in this case, but let change it to, regular calcium and premium calcium.. :?

Green eggs would be rotton!!

HJ...green eggs are not rotten...they are only rotten if they land on you! Green eggs taste the SAME as brown and white eggs...silly! 8)
