Lavender waxbill diet?

I've had a lavender WB hen for a little over a week now, and I'm a bit curious on how I'm supposed to feed her, since I hear these guys should be eating a varied diet. She, and all the other birds in the aviary (javas, diamond doves) are eating BRU premium finch mix. I've been offering birdy bread, egg food, veggies, and sprouted seed everyday or two, but the lavender only eats the regular dry seed. She might have been snacking on the sprouted seed but I'm not sure. After reading up on them I'm a bit surprised that a supposively very insectivorous finch could care less about insects, they're not supposed to be picky either. I've offered aphids, mealworms, and termites, but she hasn't touched anything live so far. Should I just keep offering? What's a good diet plan for these birds? I've already read just about everything about them on the internet (which isn't much) so I'm looking for first hand experience from fellow forum members. I'm hoping to get her a mate in the furture, and maybe even breed them eventually.
