Freezing bird seed?

Does freezing bird seed actually kill the bug eggs that are in it, or will they still eventually hatch if you take the seed out of the freezer?

I've been freezing my seed (ever since I had seed moths in the house) and I haven't had ANY since freezing. (knock on wood) :)

Ok, well I buy 25 pound bags. If I freeze them for a few days and then take them out and poor the entire contents into a container I shouldn't get any moths?

The freezing will kill any moth eggs that might be in the seed, but once you take the seed out of the freezer and put it in another container, there are no guarantees that you might not get seed moths from another source, unless it is impossible for them to get inside the container.

How long do you have to keep it frozen for the eggs to die?
