Nutritional problem?

Post by queenb » Fri Mar 28, 2008 12:38 pm

Okay....I'm desperate and looking to the experts! Does anyone know what could turn an orange zebra beak yellow green at the mouth? I suspect a vitamin deficiency or nutritional issue....Many thanks! Bridget

is the colour change effecting the whole beak or just around the edges, it could be something as simple as eating a lot of fresh greens causing it.
a list of what you feed the bird would help in trying to work this out. have seen something like this when I bred budgies years ago and it was only caused by over induldging in chickweed lol

Just the basics....millet, and kaytee finch seed...with twice weekly lettuce, apple, melon, strawberry, monthly; egg...it does come and go...just about the time I take them to the local bird shop for consultation, it's back to normal!
