Eating eggs and veggies like troopers now!

Well, it has only taken a month to get them to realize eggs and veggies are NOT evil!

I do not think they had this before at other owner's. I know Cousin It did as he ran right down to it but the original 5 looked at it in horror....as you know from previous posts.

Got a coffee grinder for seeds and a mini chopper that WORKS for eggs and veggies and I have to say.... they now are at the dish before I get cage closed and despite putting in 2 dishes are shoving each other out of the way for 1. DUH!

Today was kale, broccoli and hard boiled egg chopped in chopper and then added to ground seed mix. Guy we bought cage from had a bunch of treat sticks his bird wouldn't eat. They were still sealed but falling apart so am using the clumps in the grinder to mix with egg/veggies.

Just nice to see that persistence pays for the health of these little buggers. Next will be adding more of a variety of veggies with this mix!!

That's great! It is only day two of veggies for mine. No go yet. But they will get there

This is the first time mine have started right in eating. Yours will get there!!

Mine had never had them or acted like they never did. It has taken a month. Last week they would eat them but not right away. Send the older son in to check it out kinda thing.

This morning, I had closed door and they were at dish scarfing it down!

I am going to make smaller batches though as 6 birds do not eat all i put out and it gets wasted.

Keep trying! Yours will get there!!

Funny how they all get it eventually. Creatures of habit, like the rest of us. Once they try though, they realize that it tastes good and then come to expect it on a daily basis. LOL, mine yell at me if I dawdle too long with my cup of tea. Beep meep, tweet, burble, chip chip, sing sing etc and cock their heads at me, as if to say, c'mon ol' lady giant how long does it take to drink a cup of tea???

Mine can see into the kitchen, and have figured out that's where the veggies come from. Whenever I go in there, at least a couple perch at that end of the cage and watch me intently, and make it clear that I am a sorry excuse for a bird owner if I come out of there with just something for me.

My birds only eat broccoli, lettuce is the devil to most of them. They love their eggfood though and sometimes my one society male will take the tiniest nibble of the lettuce.
