Thank you, thank you, thank you for recommending the Ninja Mini Chopper for preparing veggies for my birds!! Finally, I have a machine that will chop finch-sized pieces without turning the whole bunch of greens into a soggy mush. I guess it is the fact that it has two blades, one halfway up the stem, as what usually happens is that the bottom greens go mushy while the top greens stay whole. I tried a mini food processor--great for some functions, but not chopping greens. Magic Bullet--piece of junk IMO.

I bought a large bag of Power Greens at Costco--baby kale, chard, and spinach. Viola, in no time I had a bowl full of greens just the right size for my birds! They were fairly wet, too, before I started, and still came out great. The best $20 I've spent!!

Bought one last year on close out at Walmart for $14. Best money I've ever spent. Chops bugs up pretty well also.

I was given mine as a Christmas gift...I use it daily and love it. The single stack of blades on a regular food processor has nothing on the two stack of blades on the Ninja!

Man I'm feeling outdated .. I still use the chopping board n a cutco knife

Sally, I must have missed the post that talked about the Ninja Chopper. Is that the real name of it? I'll have to look for it, as I too have trouble finding something that chops & doesn't mash.

finchandlovebird Actually, I think it was on Facebook that cindy talked about it. It is called "Ninja Express Chop" and I got mine at Walmart for $19.99. They only had it in red, so that may be the only color that Walmart carries. I'll change the title of this thread to reflect the actual name.

@kyubi I'd probably do the same if I had fewer birds, but with anywhere from 100 to 150, I don't have the patience to do it by hand! lol

I'm going to have to get one then. I have the same problems you had Sally. Mush on the bottom and whole leaves on the top. And doing it by hand is so slow...

Wow! I only knew about the Ninja blenders that cost a lot more than $20. Thank you for sharing Cindy & Sally.

I have a ninja, great for the birds and for milkshakes and smoothies for me. Lol. awesome blender brand for multiple purposes Sally .
