I've been ordering the 1900 finch mid from abbaseed.com. I'm on the east coast so shipping was only 27 for 75 lbs of seed. I usually add 5 lbs of proso millet and 5 lbs of.canary grass to each 25 lbs of the 1900 mix. There are oat groats that my finches seem to ignore although I'm sure they eat some of it. They almost always clean the mix of all the millets and canary grass.

Hi everyone, I've also been looking for a good finch mix. My pet peeve is that most of them have these colored (fortified) chips in them that NONE of my birds will eat. Also they really muck up the water when I try to sprout the mix. I image-Googled all three of your suggestions and the Herman Bros mix seems to be the only one that has no colored chips in it. Is that correct Lori?

I ordered from Herman Bros. 2 different finch mix and now that I have a new Red factor canary, I was wondering what mix some of you order from them for your canary/canaries? I want to feed him unfortified because I also supplement. My finches absolutely love Herman Bros seed

I prefer Jones Seed Company. They are closer to me with very reasonable shipping. I've been very satisfied with all the orders I've received from them.

I mix all of it together in a large Brute trashcan when it arrives. All of my birds seem to really enjoy it. I include the larger seeds for the Javas and the Diamond Doves.
