My Egg Food Recipe

Post by steve » Fri Nov 28, 2014 6:38 am

Hi

I have been making this for awhile now

12 x Boiled eggs (Blitzed in food processor)
3 x Carrots (Grated)
3 x Small Beetroot (Grated)
1 x Head Broccoli (Chopped fine)
1 x Tin corn (Blitzed)
1 x 1kg Egg food

I just mix it altogether bottle and freeze, I get 20 feedings for 7 pairs of Canaries.

Sounds like a good mix. I also freeze my egg food, as I like to do it all at once and then have it available at my leisure. I have mixed up as much as 6 dozen eggs at a time, though usually I just do 3 dozen.

Sally

Do you freeze in individual servings?

steve No, I have over 100 finches, so I freeze in containers that hold about 3 full cups of egg food (I think they are sold as quart containers, not home right now to check). I make my egg food quite dry, so I can leave it out.
