Re: gouldian super food
Looks like millet in the green seed phase. Great for all birds and mine devour it quickly. Also the leaves are great for ggouldians to nest with as mine love broad leaf grasses as nesting material.

That's a super good idea.
You know, I was thinking of trying something like that next Summer, but in planters.
Last winter, I was blowing my hulls and I guess some seeds as well over my lawn, never giving it much thought. I figured that the wild birds would get them, but instead they were buried under the snow.
In the Spring, all of a sudden, I had all these wierd grasses and strange things growing all over my lawn. Birds, both outdoors and indoors went wild over them, which gave me the idea (only I decided that planters would be a better choice than my poor lawn).
How is 'baby bird' doing?

Re: gouldian super food
Haha I throw mine over the fence into the gravel drive for the wild birds to pick through but I inevitably get some growing up against the fence. They all seem to like it.
