I just wondered about this.... I have been seeing all of this coal in my yard. If it rains hard I will see a lot of it that has been uncovered... Well my dog actually grabs it and snacks it down before I can catch him usually... Well he's not dead yet!!! Lol so its pet edible...

OK so for the question... If its actually coal, can we feed it to the birds??? I already feed charcoal ground, so I'm wondering if this was safe as well ???

Not the actual in my yard, but here is a picture of what it looks like....

Let me know what can think, or don't think!!!

Without knowing exactly what it is, what it was used for or where it came from - I'd be dubious about feeding it to the birds. Rather stick to charcoal that is purpose packaged for birds.

Wonder why you have so much of it in your yard though?

I have no idea... my mom said that my granpa use to burn coal in an old house trailer by me... but i cant figure out why its where its at... unless its naturally coming from the ground or maybe he store it in that area years ago and it got covered up with dirt and now is resurfacing???

Your right though....it was just a curiosity thing
