I cut stalks of grass seed from my daughter's "non chemical" 7 acres & bring in for my birds. I've been keeping them in a paper grocery bag.
Have been notice a few tiny brown ants in the cage recently; just 3 or 4, which I squash immediately. Can't find ants anywhere else in the house or by doors or windows. Made me think they maybe came in with the grasses.
Today I put the grasses in a freezer bag to sit in the freezer for a while. The loose seeds in the bottom of the bag I put on a paper plate. Notice just a few MINUTE little crawlies.
Should I not worry about these, as birds eat insects in the wild. Or should I freeze all grasses I bring in :?: :?: :?: :?:

Don't worry too much about them, birds eat them naturally in the wild anyway as you have said, and since they come from a place where you know for certain there are no chemicals, then there is no harm of poisoning your birds. Even sometimes store-bought seeds have bugs in them, it cannot be helped since they are grown out in the open. (Most of the time some of my birds used to pick them out and eat them, but that depends on the bird).

However there is no harm in freezing it if you do not wish to have them there. (It might also stop any ants from getting inside your house off topic). I have a habit of washing etc anything I have brought inside for my birds.
